PendleLoop Launches Leveraged ETH and Stock Trading

2 min read

Pendle Finance announced the launch of its automated PendleLoop trading interface on October 21, 2026, extending its yield-focused platform into leveraged cryptocurrency and tokenized stock trading. According to The Defiant, the tool simplifies recursive borrowing through an automated looping process.

Pendle previously concentrated on yield tokenization through Principal Tokens (PTs) and Yield Tokens (YTs). Its expansion introduces two trading modes: Loop to Earn for amplified yields and Loop to Long/Short for leveraged directional exposure.

Pendle is waiving native protocol fees on eligible non-PT Earn and directional loops until December 31, 2026. Variable borrowing interest and network transaction costs still apply.

Automated Borrowing Expands Trading Options

The system replaces repeated manual borrowing transactions. “Lend, borrow, buy more, repeat,” Pendle said in describing the previously manual process.

Users deposit collateral and select leverage, while smart contracts route borrowing and additional purchases. The official PendleLoop trading interface lists maximum leverage according to asset correlation and liquidation thresholds.

Tokenized Stocks Face Trading Restrictions

The Base deployment supports seven technology equities: Alphabet, Amazon, Apple, Meta, Microsoft, Nvidia and Tesla.

The stock tokens are certificates issued by Coinbase Onchain SPV Ltd., with the underlying shares held by Alpaca Securities. According to Aave Labs, Aave V4 credit pools support collateral-backed stablecoin borrowing but not direct borrowing of stock tokens for short positions.

Access is restricted to eligible non-US users in permitted jurisdictions.

Liquidation and Borrowing Risks

Leveraged positions face automated liquidation when collateral values breach borrowing thresholds. Variable interest rates can exceed expected returns, while smart-contract failures and issuer exposure introduce additional risks.

These assets carry no statutory deposit insurance under FDIC or German EinSiG protections.

Asset Route Maximum Leverage Network
Wrapped Ether (WETH) 15.6x Ethereum / Base
Wrapped Staked Ether (wstETH) 11.8x Ethereum / Base
Directional Crypto Trades 6.0x Ethereum / Base
Seven Technology Stocks 2.6x to 4.2x Base
