Coinbase Stock Rallies Again.

Coinbase shares rose 5.84% to $145.89 by 10:31 a.m. ET on Tuesday, November 3, as analysis from 24/7 Wall St. highlighted substantial cryptocurrency exposure across ARK’s innovation funds.

The rebound followed losses of 8.59% over one week and 20.28% over the preceding month. Bitcoin traded at $77,612, down 0.23% over 24 hours, suggesting the exchange’s recovery was not accompanied by a comparable cryptocurrency price increase.

Investment writer Ryne Mauck highlighted the wider portfolio risk: “Coinbase bounced hard today, but the real story is how many supposedly diversified ETFs are silently loaded with crypto exposure that moves in lockstep when the market turns.”

ARK Funds Increase Coinbase Exposure

ARK Investment Management purchased 24,790 Coinbase shares for approximately $3.4 million on Monday, bringing its recent digital equity purchases towards $17 million, according to reporting cited by Crowdfund Insider.

The purchases followed a Wall Street setback. CNBC reported that Morgan Stanley advised investors to avoid Coinbase, while institutional accumulation provided a contrasting signal.

No single confirmed catalyst explained Tuesday’s gains.

ARK held 2,511,319 Coinbase shares, valued at $367.13 million, as of June 30. Its thematic funds also maintain positions in Bitcoin investment products, stablecoin businesses and other cryptocurrency-linked companies.

Coinbase Weights and Crypto Exposure Across ARK Funds

The following estimates use July 31 portfolio weights reported by 24/7 Wall St. The projected contribution reflects Coinbase’s share-price movement alone, not actual ETF returns.

Coinbase Earnings Reveal Additional Risks

Coinbase’s third-quarter revenue fell 35% to $1.22 billion, while $715 million in investment-related cryptocurrency gains contributed to earnings. Those results illustrate how trading activity and digital asset valuations can jointly influence the stock.

Chief Executive Brian Armstrong confirmed another source of exposure during the October 29 earnings call, saying Coinbase had “just purchased our 18,000th bitcoin” for its balance sheet.

By comparison, the Invesco QQQ Trust held no Coinbase shares in its June 30 portfolio, illustrating the difference between conventional growth-index exposure and concentrated thematic investments.

Regulatory Changes Add Market Uncertainty

The Senate’s 49–50 procedural defeat of the Digital Asset Market Clarity Act shifted attention towards regulatory action under existing SEC authority, as discussed by the New York Law Journal.

SEC Chairman Paul Atkins outlined plans for a tailored offering regime and a non-investment contract safe harbour, creating another regulatory development for cryptocurrency businesses to assess.

ARK’s next portfolio disclosures will establish whether its Coinbase holdings increased further during the selloff, giving investors a clearer picture of their exposure to digital asset markets.
